Mother's Day

Well well well. I can't believe it is already Mother's Day again. This year is flying by! I'm going to make mom some tasty Italian food and some roasted garlic bread tonight. We'll probably just play cribbage and hang out during the day. Just be mellow - well maybe some wine! :)

Thursday was good. I was supposed to be training the DMS guys, but their meeting went long so I got out of it, but also missed free drinks and happy hour. Oh well, still had a good time. S and I went to the PI, then the Reservoir. Now that is a weird place. This guy's father had just passed away and he was in down for his funeral. He thought I was his new BFF and kept asking where my 'old man' was (he was outside talking to his mom on the phone, being it was his Birthday and all). My new best friend put the pool cue over my head down across my chest and brought me closer to him and left a big old wet nasty kiss on my cheek. GROSS. We played some pool, and even had a guy walk on his hands for us. After that, went to S's house for a pit stop, then to the Buckaroo. I think S had a good Birthday. We stayed up way to late and had a hard time getting going the next day. However, what else to you expect for a day after a birthday?

Friday was awesome. S, Chelle and I all had it off! We hung out on the lawn and porch. It was a heat wave - a whole 65 degrees. We played Yahtzee, listened to music and read some weird gay magazines and the Stranger that I picked up at Irwin's. I think they should expand their reading material for a broader audience, but I guess i can't really complain because it was free. S, Chelle and I then watched Spinal Tap, which I haven't seen in years. It still is pretty darn funny. S and I then watched Gone Baby Gone (good - but it could have been ALOT better. The dialogue got a wee bit cheesy at times), and then I watched No Country For Old Men why S was sleeping. It was a trip. I haven't seen a movie like that in ages. It made you think, and you weren't even sure what the characters stood for, if they were "bad or good" guys. It was a strange premise but seemed like it could happen - minus some movie conveniences.

Today I finished Atonement, good book. One of the rare book vs. movie comparisons that did not totally pissed me off. Mom and I went to the bank and to Freddy's. I get short with her, and then I feel bad about it. I think I might need a break. I might ask Jen if she'll take her for a week, but then I feel bad like I'm sending her away. She just gets so crazy at times, its hard. :(

Tomorrow I plan on sleeping in and hanging out with Mare. I wish there were three day weekends more often!!!
